On March 11, 2026, Mr. Le Van Danh – President & CEO of Power Generation Corporation 3 (EVNGENCO3), chaired a working session with Mong Duong Thermal Power Company on power generation for the dry season and the 2026 operation plan. Attendees included representatives from EVNGENCO3’s functional departments and EVNGENCO3 Power Service Company (EPS).
The delegation visited the trial installation area of upgraded equipment aimed at reducing the outlet temperature of the cooling water at Mong Duong 1 Thermal Power Plant
At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuan – Director of Mong Duong Thermal Power Company, reported on the power generation results for the first two months of 2026, preparations for the dry season, the full-year 2026 operational plan, and the program to improve equipment reliability and reduce heat rate. The Company has developed a major overhaul plan for Unit S2, while implementing solutions to ensure environmental compliance and enhance operational efficiency.
Acknowledging the results achieved in the first two months of the year, Mr. Le Van Danh requested the plants’s staff and workforce to maintain strict operational discipline, closely control technical risks, and avoid complacency in production management. According to forecasts, the 2026 hot season may arrive earlier, last longer, and be more intense than in previous years, leading to increased electricity demand, especially from June to August. Therefore, the Corporation requires the unit to proactively prepare production resources , particularly ensuring adequate fuel supply such as coal and oil amid ongoing volatility in the global energy market.

The President & CEO also directed the unit to continue implementing measures to improve production efficiency, control techno-economic indicators, upgrade environmental protection equipment in line with the Corporation’s directives, and strengthen coordination with EPS in maintenance and repair activities to ensure generating units remain ready for dispatch and operate safely and continuously.

On this occasion, the delegation also visited and encouraged plant operators, recognizing the efforts of employees directly involved in maintaining safe and continuous operation of the generating units. This timely encouragement serves as motivation for the workforce of Mong Duong Thermal Power Company to continue striving to fulfill their power generation tasks, especially during the peak dry season of 2026.
