As of the end of March 2026, electricity output of Buon Kuop Hydropower Company reached 474 million kWh, surpassing the target assigned by Power Generation Corporation 3 (EVNGenco3) by 10%. Entering this year’s dry season, the Company has synchronously implemented solutions ranging from operation and equipment maintenance to coordination with local authorities, aiming to ensure efficient power generation while supplying water to downstream areas for domestic use and efficient farming.

Buon Kuop Hydropower Company proactively stored water from the end of 2025 in preparation for the 2026 dry season. By raising the water level of Buon Tua Srah Reservoir (annual regulation) to an elevation of 487.28 m/487.50 m by year-end, the Company secured an important reserve source, ensuring water supply for downstream domestic use and agricultural production, while contributing to maintaining the stability of the national power system during the 2026 dry season.

In the first three months of 2026, inflows to Buon Tua Srah Reservoir were higher than the same period in 2025 and above the multi-year average. Buon Kuop and Srepok 3 reservoirs also recorded relatively high inflows. As a result, total electricity production in Q1/2026 reached 474 million kWh, achieving 110% of the target assigned by the Corporation.

According to meteorological and hydrological forecasts, ENSO phenomenon has shifted to a warm phase (El Niño). Total rainfall from April to December 2026 is expected to be lower than or approximately equal to the multi-year average, with the rainy season likely to begin in mid-May. Based on this outlook, the Company plans to generate approximately 668 million kWh from April to July 2026, bringing total output for the first seven months of the year to around 1,141 million kWh.

In parallel with power generation tasks, the Company places strong emphasises on equipment repair and maintenance. Recently, the major overhaul of Unit H2 at Srepok 3 Hydropower Plant was completed more than 23 hours ahead of schedule. Generating units at Buon Tua Srah and Buon Kuop hydropower plants have also been scheduled for maintenance in April and May 2026.

In strict compliance with the Inter-reservoir Operation Procedures, the Company consistently prioritizes a harmonious balance between power generation and downstream water supply. From December 2025 to January 2026, the Company’s leadership worked with authorities of Quang Phu, Nam Nung, and Nam Da communes (Lam Dong Province) and Nam Ka commune (Dak Lak Province) to reach agreement on water demand. To align with local farming habits, the Company coordinated with relevant stakeholders to adjust the continuous water supply schedule from 7:00 a.m. to a new timeframe, from approximately 3:00 p.m. to the following morning. On February 27, 2026, the Company’s 2026 water resources utilization plan was submitted to the Provincial People’s Committees, Departments of Industry and Trade, and Departments of Agriculture and Environment of Dak Lak and Lam Dong provinces, enabling local authorities to inform local residents, enabling them to proactively plan cultivation activities while effectively coordinating water use.
