On June 6, 2024, a delegation from Power Generation Corporation 3 (EVNGENCO3), led by General Director Mr. Le Van Danh, Deputy General Director of Engineering – Production, along with Mr. Tran Dinh An, Mr. Vu Quang Sang - Trade Union Chairman, and representatives from the EVNGenco3’s departments conducted an inspection at the Mong Duong Thermal Power Company to assess its preparedness for electricity production during the 2024 dry season.

Since late 2023, Mong Duong Thermal Power Company has collaborated with EPS Company to conduct repairs and maintenance on furnaces and generators, and inspect and address equipment irregularities to ensure optimal electricity production for the 2024 dry season.

Entering 2024 with numerous challenges, including complex weather patterns, widespread heat waves, and rising electricity demand, the Company has implemented a range of synchronized solutions to ensure stable unit operations in line with the National Power System's mobilization plan, such improving operational discipline, focusing on technical management, heat loss reduction program; assigning leaders and technical staff on duty to strengthen incident handling; promoting inspection of actual operating equipment, tracking furnace and machine operating parameters for diagnosis of abnormalities and prompt handling; effectively performing environmental protection and fully preparing coal, raw and spare materials to ensure production. By the end of May 2024, the electricity output of the Mong Duong Thermal Power Company stood at 3.284 billion kWh, reaching 45.7% of the annual plan assigned by EVNGENCO3 (7.185 billion kWh).

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuan, Director of Mong Duong Thermal Power Company, provided an update on the company’s performance during the first five months of 2024 and outlined solutions to ensure safe and uninterrupted power generation following the directions, including collaborating with partners to maintain adequate coal reserves, controlling over coal quality and particle size, coordinating with EPS repair units and working closely with the National Load Dispatch Center to ensure efficient operational methods, and continuing to perform initiatives to reduce heat loss and minimize avoidable incidents.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Le Van Danh, General Director of EVNGENCO3, highly commended the achievements of Mong Duong Thermal Power Company. He acknowledged the company's dedicated efforts and efficient resource management, which have ensured stable operations in recent times. Looking ahead, Mr. Danh emphasized the importance of proactively securing fuel supplies to maintain production stability and safe unit operations to meet the power system’s demands, particularly in light of anticipated challenges in electricity supply in the Northern region during the peak of the dry season and beyond. 

On the occasion of Workers' Month 2024, as part of the electricity production inspection program, EVNGENCO3 visited and presented gifts to union members and employees of the Mong Duong Thermal Power Company and EPS Company who have played a vital role in plant operations and maintenance, ensuring stable electricity production. Additionally, the Corporation held a ceremony to commend and award certificates of merit to officers and employees recognized as Outstanding Electricity Workers, Outstanding Safety and Hygiene Officers in 2024, and Outstanding Workers of May 2024 from the Mong Duong Thermal Power Company.
