This is one of the activities under the framework of the National Program on economical and efficient use of energy in the period of 2019-2030 as approved by the Prime Minister to encourage, honor and promote the innovative, creative and economic spirits, reduce the consumption of materials, fuels and greenhouse gas emissions as well as develop the prestige and brand names for typical enterprises operating in the sector of energy supply, processing and production of energy-saving and environmentally-friendly products towards the sustainable production and consumption. This is also the first year that the award ceremony is organized.

Phu My Thermal Power Company, a Branch of the Power Generation Corporation 3 - Joint Stock Company is honored in the Top 50 typical enterprises operating in the sector of energy supply, processing and production of energy-saving and environmentally-friendly products and received the "2019 Sustainable Energy" Award held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
To receive this award, Phu My Thermal Power Company has successfully satisfied criteria including efficient production and business, year-over-year increasing revenue; fulfillment of all obligations to the State, complied with provisions of the law on economical and efficient use of energy; applied economical and effective solutions, renewed technologies used in production and business operations; performed duties well in internal corporate controls and businesses with other partners as well as implemented effectively the environmental protection and charitable benefactions.
Phu My Thermal Power Company (formerly Phu My Power Plant) is established on February 16, 1997 and has more than 23 years of experience in power production and business; participating in the electricity market according to the roadmap approved by competent authorities and other business lines in consistent with the major business lines of Power Generation Corporation 3. The Company’s total designed capacity of existing plants is 2,540 MW. The total electricity output from the date of formation until December 31, 2019 is 288.32 billion kWh. The Company’s annual power generation output for the National Power Grid System is about 16 billion kWh, contributing a significant energy resource to the National Power Grid System in particular and demands for the socio-economic development of the country in general.
