The hypothetical situation is that, at 8:00 am on January 22nd, 2021, oil is spilled from The Saigon International Terminals Vietnam while the tide is rising. The Saigon International Terminals Vietnam has performed an oil spill response; however, there is still an amount of oil spill of about 200m2 flowing into Phu My 2.1 Port of the ​​Phu My Thermal Power Company.

When realizing the incident, on-duty officers at Phu My 2.1 Port have reported to the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and other security teams to understand the situation. Immediately after receiving the notice, the ERT immediately appointed workforces of the Oil Spill Response Team (OSRT) of the Company to quickly present at the site of the Phu My 2.1 Port to carry out the emergency response plan. At the same time, the standing team of the OSRT of the Viet Nam Maritime Construction Investment Consultancy Joint Stock Company (MCIC) has been reported to mobilize response forces and equipment to the Phu My 2.1 Port and cooperate with the OSRT teams of Phu My Thermal Power Company to implement oil spill response plans. Then reporting to relevant authorities to be supported and received remedy.

To limit the spreading and diffusion of oil vapor to the surrounding environment, which may cause fire and explosion easily, the Executive Committee has informed the Company's specialized firefighting forces to deliver a fire truck and divided forces into 03 groups at hydrants to spray into the oil spill area that is collected by buoys in order to prevent the fire or explosion in the Port.

After 45 minutes, thanks to the strict coordination of all forces, the rehearsal is completed and all requirements are satisfied. This is an annual activity according to regulations and has practical meaning to help all personnel of Phu My Thermal Power Company consolidate their knowledge, promote the initiative, management skills, and unified control implementation in the oil spill response. In addition, it also improves the capacity of mobilizing on-site forces and vehicles to be ready to respond to any oil spills for the successful performance of the environmental management and protection of the Company as well as its neighboring areas, minimizing damage to people and properties in case of occurrence of oil spills.
