During the first 6 months of 2023, Mong Duong Thermal Power Company actively organized various activities and competitive movements, successfully accomplished the tasks of safe and efficient electricity production, contributing significantly to ensuring a stable electricity supply, especially during peak periods of hot weather and high power system loads, particularly in the Northern region. 

As of the end of June 2023, the electricity production output of Mong Duong 1 Thermal Power Plant reached 4.078 billion kWh, achieving 58.1% of the annual plan for 2023. This output is higher than the same period in 2022 by 547 million kWh, and it has exceeded the 6-month plan by 102%, as part of the production competition initiative. 

The company proactively worked with coal suppliers (Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited, and Northeast Corporation) to adjust the contract and increase the volume of coal imports during the dry months in 2023. They closely monitored and urged the coal suppliers to ensure timely and sufficient delivery of coal to the Mong Duong 1 Thermal Power Plant as per the requirements. The current coal inventory of the power plant is ready to meet the electricity production operational plan for the remaining months of 2023. 

Ensure the source of natural resources for production 

In addition, the company has arranged leadership and staff on duty to be ready to provide guidance for production and handle any abnormalities or equipment malfunctions. They have collaborated with EPS Company to plan repairs, maintenance, overhauls, and refurbishments at appropriate times, ensuring a priority on electricity production during the dry months. 

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited and worked at Mong Duong Thermal Power Company 

Recognizing the efforts of Mong Duong Thermal Power Company, as well as other power plants in Quang Ninh province, during an inspection of electricity production in early June 2023, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commended the dedication of the company's officials and workers in operating the power plant, particularly during hot weather and increased electricity consumption. The company has contributed to ensuring electricity supply for the daily needs of citizens and supporting business activities. The Prime Minister requested Mong Duong Thermal Power Company to continue researching upgrades and applying scientific and technological advancements in electricity production. He emphasized the effective implementation of standardized systems for plant management and operation, along with solutions to ensure information security at increasingly higher standards. 

All equipment is regularly checked to ensure stable operation 

In parallel with ensuring production activities, Mong Duong Thermal Power Company places significant emphasis on environmental protection. The company has installed a comprehensive system of automatic and continuous monitoring, transmitting data to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Quang Ninh province. This system measures parameters related to dust, emissions, industrial wastewater, domestic wastewater, cooling water, surveillance cameras, and automated wastewater sampling. The environmental protection equipment operates safely, continuously, and reliably. The levels of dust, emissions, wastewater, and cooling water discharged by the power plant always remain within permissible limits. 

Mong Duong Thermal Power Plant always pays attention and focuses on planting green trees, continuously improving the landscape and living environment, both inside and around the plant, as well as the living conditions in the Operational Management Area. In the first 6 months of 2023, the company has planted more than 1500 green trees, including roses, magnolias, pines, and cypress trees. This activity is an integral part of the company's development process.

The company performs well in the prevention and control of risks, accidents, and occupational diseases, ensuring Occupational Health and Safety - Fire and Explosion Prevention at the workplace. They organize training on Occupational Health and Safety - Fire and Explosion Prevention as required, focusing on skills assessment and hazard identification regarding Occupational Health and Safety - Fire and Explosion Prevention. 

In the final months of 2023, Mong Duong Thermal Power Company continues to intensify efforts in implementing measures to ensure the safe operation of its generating units while also fulfilling its responsibilities in safeguarding the environment.
