In January 2023, the total electricity production of the company reached 2.145 billion kWh, achieving 87.6% of the monthly plan. The average daily production was 69.2 million kWh, which accounted for 88.43% compared to the same period in 2022. The lower-than-planned performance was due to the prioritization of water discharge by hydroelectric plants in the northern region to serve the flood control during the Lunar New Year, reduced electricity demand during the Lunar New Year holiday, and continued difficulties in the supply of coal fuel. As a result, the thermal power plants under EVNGenco3 operated at a lower capacity, and some units had to be put on standby. On the other hand, hydroelectric plants operated at a higher capacity.
The power plants of EVNGenco3 ensured safe, continuous, and efficient electricity supply, meeting the mobilization requirements of the National Power System Regulation during the holiday period. There were no unusual equipment incidents. The total electricity generation of the subsidiaries under the company during the Lunar New Year holiday (from January 20th, 2023, to January 26th, 2023) was 235.46 million kWh. Among them, thermal power plants produced 196.18 million kWh, accounting for approximately 83% of the company's electricity generation, while hydroelectric plants produced 39.29 million kWh, accounting for 17%. At certain peak hours, the total capacity of the power plants under the company transmitted to the national grid reached 1,100 MW, accounting for about 4.4% of the total system load.
In the electricity market activities, the company continued to participate and adhere to the current regulations effectively. It developed appropriate bidding plans in line with the electricity market conditions and operational conditions of the units, ensuring effective production and business outcomes.
2. Environmental work
Environmental protection and management of ash and slag at power plants continue to be ensured. The daily generation of ash and slag at the Mong Duong 1 Thermal Power Plant and a significant portion of the ash and slag generated daily at the Vinh Tan 2 Thermal Power Plant and Ninh Binh Thermal Power Plant have been successfully utilized or consumed.
Periodic monitoring results of emissions, wastewater, cooling water, and the surrounding environment are all within the permissible limits of current standards. The entire set of parameters from the online environmental monitoring system at the Thermal Power Plants: Mong Duong 1, Vinh Tan 2, and Ninh Binh, are directly transmitted to the local Department of Natural Resources and Environment and displayed on electronic boards placed in front of the power plants' gates. This ensures that environmental monitoring information is continuously, consistently, and stably available.
The hydroelectric power plants are ready to ensure operational plans and regularly monitor, report, and implement downstream water regulation measures.
II. Objectives and tasks of the February 2023 plan
In February 2023, the company strives to achieve the electricity production target of 2.112 billion kWh, as approved by the Vietnam Electricity Corporation and the National Power System Regulation Center, following the monthly method. The company aims to ensure the highest availability of power generation units. At the Phu My Power Plants, the gas supply will be guaranteed according to demand, ready to meet the system's mobilization requirements. The coal-fired power plants will be readily available, with fuel and electricity generation adjusted to meet the system's demand. The hydroelectric power plants will optimize their operations based on water flow, ensuring downstream water supply.
The company will continue to implement investment construction projects according to the plan. It will maintain stable environmental protection measures in the production areas and waste disposal sites. The company will actively carry out the tasks outlined in the 2023 plan and make preparations for organizing activities to commemorate the 10th anniversary of EVNGenco3's establishment.

During the month, power plants of EVNGenco3 have successfully satisfied the mobilization of the National Load Dispatch Centre, ensured the safe and continuous power supply. EVNGenco3's power output in November 2021 is 2,441 billion kWh, reaching 88.75% of the plan. However, the load demand of the power system continues to be low due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Hydrological conditions are favorable, so plants of Buon Kuop Hydropower Company have mobilized on the basis of water flows.
