The survey was attended by Delegate Nguyen Tam Hung, Colonel, Member of the National Defense and Security Committee of the National Assembly, Provincial National Assembly Delegates, representatives of the leadership of the departments, offices of the National Assembly Delegation and the Provincial People's Council.
Mr. Le Van Huy, CEO of the company, reported to the delegation of National Assembly members during the field survey.
At the working session, Mr. Le Van Huy, the CEO of Ba Ria Thermal Power Joint Stock Company, gave an overview of the company's operations. He said that the company is currently managing and operating 10 turbine units, including 8 gas turbine units and 2 steam turbine units, with a total installed capacity of 388.9 MW. The company has the ability to supply the power system with about 2.09 billion kWh per year. In the period of 2016-2021, the total electricity production of the company reached about 5.06 billion kWh.
In recent years, the gas fuel source has decreased, not meeting the electricity production demand of the company. Moreover, renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power have developed strongly, so the company's turbine units mainly operate as backup power sources.
To save on self-consumed electricity, the company has invested in 4 solar power systems to supply self-consumed electricity for the turbine units and factories. The average electricity output of the 4 solar power systems is 90,388 kWh per month.
To ensure monitoring requirements, the delegates exchanged and clarified the difficulties and obstacles of the company regarding input fuel, environmental impacts of new investment projects, production output, revenue, stability of the power source, etc. The survey topic also aims to objectively, truthfully, fully, and comprehensively evaluate the implementation of policies and laws on energy development in the period of 2016-2021.

The survey team has listened to, grasped, and synthesized the company's report content, especially the existing limitations, recommendations, and proposals for consideration to the National Assembly, government, and provincial People's Committee to improve the implementation of policies and laws on energy development in the next phase.
