Phu My 2.2 Power Plant

Located in the Phu My Power Center in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, the Phu My 2.2 Power Plant has a total capacity of 715 MW, utilizing combined cycle gas turbine technology. This plant is the first BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) project in Vietnam to be licensed through international bidding. Commercial operations began on February 4, 2005, for a term of 20 years, with the plant being transferred to Vietnam on February 4, 2025, after the conclusion of the BOT contract. Phu My 2.2 Power Plant is now the second BOT power plant to undergo such a transfer.

Since its operational launch, the Phu My 2.2 Power Plant has delivered over 90 billion kWh to the national grid, playing a key role in ensuring a reliable power supply for production, and daily life, and supporting the socio-economic development of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and southern provinces and cities of Vietnam.
