On the afternoon of December 29, 2022, in Ho Chi Minh City, Power Generation Corporation 3 (EVNGENCO3 - Stock code PGV) held a conference to review its production and business activities in 2022 and to deploy tasks for 2023.

Attending the Conference were Ms. Le Thi Hong Nga, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Basic Industry Block of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Duong Quang Thanh, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Council of Members of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN); Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan, General Director of EVN, members of the Council of Members, the Board of Directors, former members of the Board of Directors, former General Directors and representatives of EVN's leadership offices. Leaders of the National Power System Dispatching Center, Power Trading Company, Southern Power Corporation, Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation, Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Companies No. 2 and 3, and the Southern Power System Dispatching Center also attended.

Representing EVNGENCO3 were Mr. Dinh Quoc Lam, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Board of Directors; Mr. Le Van Danh, General Director of the Corporation; members of the Board of Management, the Council of Members, the Trade Union of the Corporation, the Board of Control, the leaders of the departments, the member units, and the affiliated companies of the Corporation.

The scene of the conference

At the conference, Mr. Le Van Danh - General Director of the Vietnam Electricity Corporation (EVN) presented the report on the 2022 production and business results. In the context of many fluctuations affecting costs and fuel supply, especially coal supply that has a significant impact on production and business operations, EVN has proactively sought coal supply sources for its power plants, ensuring electricity production. With these efforts, the total electricity output of EVN is 32,212 billion kWh, reaching 104.57% of the plan, of which 28,125 billion kWh comes from dependent accounting units and 4,087 billion kWh from units in which EVNGENCO3 participates in capital contribution. The corporation's total revenue in 2022 is 46,163 billion dong, reaching 101.64% of the plan, and its contribution to the state budget is estimated to reach 2,200 billion dong.

EVNGENCO3 achieves and exceeds 12 out of 13 economic and technical targets according to EVN's plan, completing on schedule the repair work of 6 major units at Phu My 1 Power Plant, Phu My 4 Power Plant, Mong Duong 1 Thermal Power Plant, and Buon Tua Srah Hydroelectric Plant, ensuring safety and meeting quality requirements to ensure electricity production.

In terms of investment and construction, the company continues to seek cooperation and development opportunities both domestically and internationally. With the Long Son Power Center Project, the company is coordinating with partners within the consortium to implement the next steps for investment preparation. Notably, during government delegations to countries such as the United States, Luxembourg, EVNGENCO3 had working sessions and signed many cooperation agreements with partners in the energy sector.

Regarding environmental protection, the power plants of the company always strictly comply with environmental regulations. Parameters are publicly disclosed and monitored directly by the local Department of Natural Resources and Environment to ensure compliance with permissible standards. The coal-fired thermal power plants continue to increase the green coverage with over 30% of the total area of the plants covered by greenery and grass.

Since February 10, 2022, PGV shares have been officially listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE), affirming the company's reputation and transparency in corporate governance, opening up many opportunities to implement restructuring goals in the company's development strategy.

In terms of digital transformation and automation, EVNGENCO3 is actively implementing these changes in its member units. At the Electric Automation Conference in the era of digital transformation on April 12, 2022, organized by EVN in Ho Chi Minh City, the company had 3 automation products on display, including the metal tank painting robot (PM TANKBOT 1), the self-use power conversion simulation system (ATS) developed by Phu My Thermal Power Company, and the automatic hydrological observation, calculation, and transmission system (BK HYDROLOG) manufactured and installed by Buon Kuop Hydropower Company. The results of the digital transformation have contributed significantly to improving production and business efficiency, increasing labor productivity, improving the reliability of electricity supply, and ensuring the provision of operation and maintenance services for power plants to customers.

EVNGENCO3, with a spirit of mutual love and responsibility to the community, has implemented many social welfare programs such as sponsoring monthly scholarships for 47 COVID-19 orphaned students in the "School of Trust" program, sponsoring "School Milk", assisting people affected by natural disasters, donating computers and study tools, visiting and giving gifts to poor households and patients being treated at hospitals during holidays, contributing to funds for the poor in localities, carrying out rural road construction and border patrol lighting projects, supporting the "For the Homeland's Seas and Islands" program, implementing the Customer Gratitude Month, and voluntary blood donation campaigns. The total value of EVNGENCO3's social welfare activities in 2022 is approximately 10 billion dong.

In his directive speech at the Conference, Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan - CEO of Vietnam Electricity Group praised the achievements of EVNGENCO3 in 2022 and as the leading power generation unit. Despite difficulties in fuel supply, with shortages of coal, EVNGENCO3 still managed to ensure the electricity output plan, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in production management. In digital transformation, the company has good investment and direction to become a digital enterprise. In addition, member units of GENCO3 proactively proposed and implemented practical solutions to improve production, business results and ensure safety in the operation of reservoirs and dams. For the direction and tasks set for 2023, the EVN CEO requested that EVNGENCO3 proactively ensure coal supply for electricity production; ensure the readiness of power plants, especially during the dry season; implement cost-saving measures in electricity production and construction investment, reduce fuel consumption, reduce self-generation of electricity, reduce large repair costs of power plants, etc.

In his response to guidance and direction, Mr. Dinh Quoc Lam - Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVNGENCO3, affirmed that based on the guidance of EVN's leadership and the theme of the Group in 2023 "Practice thrift, combat wastefulness", the company will strive and be determined to implement breakthrough solutions, innovation and creativity in production, cost optimization, dividend distribution plan, as well as investment and cooperation in new power sources to achieve the planned targets for 2023. At the same time, the company hopes to receive the support of EVN's leadership for its proactivity in investment and construction projects. The company will continue to implement the digital transformation tasks in the period 2023-2025, with a focus on Workflow.

For the year 2023, the company plans to generate a total electricity output of 31.708 billion kWh, of which 28.269 billion kWh is from dependent accounting units and 3.440 billion kWh from the joint-stock company. EVNGENCO3 always expects and will strive to fulfill its assigned tasks, contributing to ensuring the national energy security.
