On December 18th, 2020, the Power Generation Corporation 3 (EVNGENCO 3) donated 05 flood-resistant houses to 05 households in Tan Hoa Commune, Minh Hoa District, Quang Binh Province with a total value of nearly 200 million VND. Also on this occasion, EVNGENCO 3 donated 30 million VND to the Study Promotion Fund of Tan Hoa Commune. This is one of the main activities of EVNGENCO 3 towards the Central Region, implementing the Customer Appreciation Month in 2020.

EVNGENCO 3’s delegation donated 05 flood-resistance houses to households
In this program, Mr. Vu Quang Sang - Chairman of the Trade Union, Representative of the delegation of EVNGENCO 3 said that “The program is one of the activities towards the Central Region of the Power Generation Corporation 3 and towards the 66th anniversary of the Vietnam Electricity Traditional Day (December 21st, 1954 - December 21st, 2020). Hopefully that this will be a practical gift to help local people cope with natural disasters, felling safety in living and production, and ensuring a stable life”.

Tan Hoa Commune is one of the extremely difficult communes and considered as the “navel flood” of Minh Hoa District, Quang Binh Province due to its valley topography, surrounded by rocky mountains. Annually, the Commune is affected seriously by natural disasters and floods. To adapt to the annual flood situation, the local government has implemented the model of flood-resistant houses and achieved positive results in protecting people's life and property. The support of EVNGENCO 3 has strengthened the locality, contributed to expand the model to provide flood-resistant houses for many people who cannot afford to build and own this type of house. Mr. Truong Xuan Do, as one of the 05 households in Tan Hoa Commune who received a flood-resistant house from the Corporation said that “Last time when I didn’t have a floating house, I had to stay on the truss, watched furniture and my children had to temporarily camp in mountains. At that time, the water level was more than 2 meters over my roof. Now when receiving this floating house, I am very happy and feel secure to cope with floods and storms”.
Mr. Cao Van Dung - Deputy Secretary of Tan Hoa Commune, Minh Hoa District, Quang Binh Province shared that “these 5 flood-resistant houses are meaningful support and sharing of EVNGENCO 3, contributing to reducing damage in the natural disaster prevention, minimizing losses of property and life in general and households in particular”.
Previously, in October 2020, under serious damages caused by floods and storms in the Central Region, the EVNGENCO 3’s delegation visited schools in Le Thuy District and Tuyen Hoa District, Quang Binh Province to ask about, encourage, clean and repair electrical lines as well as gave leaning and teaching materials of schools beds, writing boards, blackboards, chalks, water filters, and repairing lighting systems, replacing light bulbs. The total value of this support is more than 200 million VND.
