On May 13, in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, EVN Board of Directors Member Dang Huy Cuong, Board of Directors Member Dinh The Phuc, and EVN Deputy General Director Ngo Son Hai worked with Power Generation Corporation 3 on operation, maintenance, repair, and fuel preparation for electricity production in 2024.

In the first quarter of 2024, EVNGENCO3 produced 8.3 billion kWh, exceeding the assigned plan

During the meeting, representatives from Power Generation Corporation 3 (EVNGENCO3) presented a comprehensive report on their current production and business activities to the Group's leadership. Notably, EVNGENCO3 boasts a diversified power generation portfolio encompassing hydropower, gas-fired thermal, coal-fired thermal, and solar power plants. This diversified structure affords the Corporation the agility to respond effectively and promptly to dispatch instructions issued by the National Load Dispatch Center, consequently enhancing the reliability of the national electricity supply.

EVNGENCO3 has made significant strides in fulfilling the national electricity demand, particularly amidst a substantial increase in consumption. As of the end of April 2024, the Corporation has successfully generated 8.3 billion kWh of electricity, achieving 126,8% target for the first 4 months that the Ministry of Industry and Trade had assigned. This achievement is a testament to the Corporation's dedication and commitment to ensuring a stable and reliable power supply for the nation.

 

Projecting forward for the remainder of 2024, the Corporation anticipates an electricity output of 25.349 billion kWh. This figure surpasses the Ministry of Industry and Trade's assigned plan by a commendable 3.012 billion kWh.

To ensure uninterrupted coal-fired power generation throughout the initial months of 2024, the Corporation has proactively secured sufficient coal reserves. Additionally, current coal stockpiles at the plants comply fully with established regulations.

Regarding gas fuel, EVNGENCO3 has secured the continuity of its operations through a recently extended gas supply agreement with Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) valid until the end of 2033. This agreement guarantees an annual consumption volume of 1.85 Sm3, encompassing both domestically sourced and imported Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). This strategic move ensures the Corporation's ability to respond effectively to operational demands and address peak load periods efficiently.

EVNGENCO3 has consistently done well thorough and timely maintenance activities. Since the conclusion of 2023, the Corporation has undertaken a comprehensive program of repairs and maintenance on its generation units. This proactive approach ensures their preparedness and optimal functionality for electricity production during the 2024 dry season. EVNGENCO3 remains committed to maintaining this rigorous schedule of repairs throughout 2 to guarantee project quality, timely completion, and ultimately, the safe and reliable operation of its power plants.

With a focus on good corporate governance, EVNGENCO3 has implemented a series of cost-saving measures designed to enhance production and business efficiency. Additionally, the Corporation has issued directives to its member units, emphasizing the rigorous implementation of environmental protection practices alongside core production activities. This comprehensive approach underscores EVNGENCO3's dedication to achieving sustainable development.

EVNGENCO3 and the Phu My 3 Thermal Power Plant have demonstrably ensured reliable and continuous electricity generation, significantly reducing overall system costs and enabling water conservation in hydroelectric reservoirs. Recognizing the importance of energy security, group leaders have emphasized the continued stable operation of Phu My 3 while calling for proactive measures to secure fuel supplies.

Looking ahead, EVNGENCO3's experience is deemed crucial for the successful integration of the Phu My 2 BOT Thermal Power Plant. Group leadership expresses its confidence in EVNGENCO3's ability to maintain its positive track record, fulfill its assigned tasks, and contribute to national energy security and socio-economic development.
