Recently, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations in collaboration with the ASEAN Engineers Registration Council and the Vietnam Electricity Association honored and awarded the "ASEAN Professional Engineer" Certificates in 2024 to 77 Vietnamese engineers, including 76 engineers in the Vietnam Electricity (EVN).

Among the 76 ASEAN professional engineers in 2024 of EVN, there are 28 engineers from Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation, 13 engineers from Central Power Corporation, 13 engineers from Northern Power Corporation, 7 engineers from Hanoi Power Corporation, 7 engineers from Southern Power Corporation, 4 engineers from Power Telecommunications and Information Technology Company, 3 engineers from Son La Hydropower Company, 1 engineer from EVN.

Since the establishment of the ASEAN Engineer Registration Council, Vietnam Electricity has had over 600 engineers awarded this title.

To obtain the “ASEAN Professional Engineer” certificate, engineers need to meet a number of requirements such as: possessing a nationally recognized university degree in science or technology; having at least 7 years of working experience in the engineering field, of which at least 2 years are in charge of key electrical engineering projects or projects; being fluent in at least one foreign language (normally English) and ensuring ethical standards as well as professional development.
