During the dry-season months, thermal power plants in general and Mong Duong Thermal Power Company, in particular, will usually be operated with a high capacity, accounting for about 60% of total electricity production in the whole year. Grasping this trend, the leaders of Mong Duong Thermal Power Company pays special attention to the supply of fuel and raw materials (such as coal, oil, limestone etc.), strengthening the inspection and handling problems of equipment, thereby assuring the best conditions for operation, safe, continuous, and efficient production, especially in the peak time.

The coal supply in this period is often short; therefore, to guarantee the sufficient coal supply for power production, from the last months of 2022, Mong Duong Thermal Power Company has actively cooperated, negotiated and signed contracts with other suppliers such as Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (TKV), Dong Bac Corporation. In December 2022, Mong Duong Thermal Power Company has completed the signing of a coal supply contract in 2023 with its partners, actively monitored and urged coal suppliers. As a result, the timely and sufficient delivery and receipt of coal for plants is guaranteed. The total quantity of coal delivered in the 1st Quarter of 2023 is 893,438 tons, reaching 102.6% of the contract quantity.
In addition, Mong Duong Thermal Power Company always actively implements many comprehensive solutions regarding to engineering management, purchase of materials for operation and supply of equipment and materials for maintenance and repair. Since November 2022, Mong Duong Thermal Power Company has planned and prepared the necessary materials and equipment for the maintenance and repair plan in 2023. By March 2023, the Company has basically completed the signing of contracts with partners in charge of providing materials and equipment, promoting the application of digital transformation programs, management software of material warehouses in order to meet the progress of goods supply, timely responding to the regular repair works, major repairs, contributing to assure the safe, continuous and economic operation of the plant units.
