The Mong Duong Thermal Power Company has completed the double target in ensuring safe and continuous electricity production during the pandemic outbreak, the Tan Suu Lunar New Year 2021 and successfully implementing measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic thanks to the coordination and control to prevent the spreading of the pandemic.

Prior to the Lunar New Year 2021, general impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic across the country are very complicated, especially in Hai Duong Province and Quang Ninh Province, one F0 case and one F1 case are confirmed in the Mong Duong Thermal Power Company. Immediately, on February 1st, 2021, the Company has implemented the concentrated camping plan and completely quarantined in 04 areas including Plant, Orange House, Green House and operation management area with the total number of 395 people and strictly coordinated with local health agencies to take samples of SARS-CoV2 virus. The Company has also sprayed the entire plant by disinfectants, operation management areas and living areas of workers. All employees and staff of the Mong Duong Thermal Power Company have strictly complied with regulations and guidelines on the COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control issued by health authorities and local governments, ensuring the best health conditions for workers on the basis of localization, quarantine and prevention of external infections or cross-infection.

All epidemic prevention measures and plans are sufficiently prepared and always being ready to respond to all situations since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Company has quickly implemented the isolation and quarantine, ensuring adequate equipment, facilities and living conditions for nearly 400 employees. The quarantine is implemented in a special time, when every people are reunited to celebrate the Tan Suu Lunar New Year; however, the Company has still guaranteed the safe operation of plant units, organized alternative day and night shifts without interruption, carried out the concentrated camping plan and other activities right in the Plant. Thanks to internal efforts from the Plant and the Vietnam Electricity, the Power Generation Corporation 3 has joined forces, constantly encouraged in both physical and mental manners (giving medical protective equipment, necessities such as foods, cookies, peach blossoms, spring gifts etc.) to employees and workers who are present in the Plant, ready to welcome the Lunar New Year while still operating machines and furnaces effectively to guarantee the electricity production.
Mong Duong Thermal Power Company has assigned duties 24/24 to ensure the safe and continuous operations of plant units of the Mong Duong 1 Thermal Power Plant
From the epidemic outbreak in the locality to the end of the Tan Suu Lunar New Year 2021, the Mong Duong 1 Thermal Power Plant has always responded successfully to dispatch orders and mobilization capacity, contributing to guarantee the safety for the National Grid and energy security for the pandemic prevention. The total electricity output from the time of outbreak since January 27th, 2021 to February 18th, 2021 is nearly 300 million kWh. Along with efforts of safe and continuous power supply, the Mong Duong Thermal Power Company has always ensured the health condition for workers, while environmental protection works, environmental monitoring parameters, cooling water and exhaust gas are within the permissible limit and they are maintained continuously and stably to report to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of the province.
Thanks to achievements, the Mong Duong 1 Thermal Power Company is recognized and evaluated by the leadership of Quang Ninh Province as a typical enterprise in the initiative of implementing the COVID-19 pandemic prevention plans, ensuring the effective maintenance of production and business activities. In the early days of the New Year 2021, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Ninh Province and delegations of the Province have checked the production and business activities and epidemic prevention plans, as well as visited and asked about employees and workers of the Company on the occasion of the new year. He has also praised all efforts of employees and staff of the Mong Duong 1 Thermal Power Company and considered this as a prominent highlight of Quang Ninh Province in ensuring the safe production under complicated changes of the pandemic in the past periods.
