On May 11, 2020, responding to the appeal “Joint hands to help local people in the Southwestern Region to respond to natural disasters, droughts, and saltwater intrusion” of the Government and Vietnam Electricity, and sharing burdens of the local authority as well as assisting affected people to have favorable conditions to store fresh water, the Power Generation Corporation 3 (EVNGENCO 3) in coordination with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dam Doi District, Ca Mau Province donated water tanks for local people who are in extreme difficulties, policy beneficiaries, ethnic groups etc. in the area.

The number of water tanks donated by the Corporation in this period is 90 tanks, 1000-liters type, for households of 3 communes including Tran Phan, Quach Pham and Quach Pham Bac with a total value of VND 160 million. Upon receiving water tanks from the Corporation, Mrs. Hai Cuc from Tran Phan Commune said “When commune officials said that my family can receive a water tank, my wife and I are very happy. My family has only two elderlies, our food is not enough to feed, so we cannot afford to buy a tank. Now, we have one, we will not worry about lack of drinking water”.

The donation of water tanks for people in Dam Doi District is one of “solidarity” activities that the Power Generation Corporation 3 has implemented to help local people in the Southwestern Region overcome the current difficult time, have conditions to store fresh water for their daily activities. At the donation ceremony, Mr. Tran Quoc Doan - a member of the Standing Committee of the District, the Head of the Mass Mobilization Committee, the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dam Doi District expressed his appreciation and sincere thanks to Power Generation Corporation 3 for timely support for difficulty families in the area in storing fresh water for their daily activities in the current dry season. At the same time, representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the District also desire to receive the interest and assistance of the Corporation in the coming time in terms of social security issues in the locality, because there are still many difficult households who are in need of support.

In addition to the donation of water tanks, the Power Generation Corporation 3 also financed the construction of 5 water storage systems for five schools in Tran Van Thoi District, Ca Mau Province to help pupils in such schools have fresh water storage systems for their school activities, the total foundation is VND 130 million. It is expected that such systems will be put into use in early June 2020.
