On April 2, 2024, in Ho Chi Minh City, Power Generation Joint Stock Corporation 3 (EVNGenco3) and Subcritical Material Co., Ltd. (SCM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation for biomass green energy transition. The agreement aims to explore investment opportunities and expand the market for transitioning to green fuel sources.
The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Vo Minh Thang, Deputy General Director of EVNGENCO 3, along with representatives from the corporation’s functional departments. Representing SCM were Mr. Nguyễn Nhi Phong, Chairman and General Director, and other company leaders.

EVNGENCO3, one of Vietnam’s leading power generation entities, is actively advancing research and application of clean and sustainable energy solutions for its power plants, particularly during the 2023–2030 period, with a vision extending to 2045, in line with COP26 commitments. Meanwhile, SCM, holding technology transfer rights from SCM Japan, possesses advanced technological systems for waste processing, producing biomass pellets and powders, contributing to the development of a green and sustainable environment.
This MoU serves as a foundation for future practical cooperation projects, promoting the transition to clean fuel sources within EVNGENCO3’s energy mix and the broader energy sector in Vietnam.
