On November 28, 1977, 33 veterans and officials from Phu Thinh Veteran Association, Phan Thiet City had a visit to Vinh Tan 2 Thermal Power Plant.

Veterans were instructed to the safety rules and introduced the process of producing electricity. According to the plant’s regulations, Veterans Union firstly visited the Public Relations Department to be instructed the safety rules before the actual visit. Here, veterans were introduced to the overview of the plant and the whole process of producing electricity from the importation of coal to the generation of electricity to the national grid.

The delegation also visited the coal port, coal conveyor system, coal storage, central control room and had conversation with the young and dynamic operators of the company in turn. Although the visited were taken place in November – there was strong winds that led to release of dust into the environment, but after the actual visit to the coal storage area and the electrostatic precipitator (ESP), the delegation was very happy because the environment in these areas was very clean and without dust.

Visiting the whole process of operating electricity production as well as the environment inside the plant, the veterans were no longer concerned about the environmental issues in the coal thermal power plant as before.
